PHP/Symfony Web developer

Location:

Romania - Bucharest

Description:

Provide software-design and development for Erepublik.com (a massive online multiplayer game) including new feature design and development, feature maintenance and bug fixing.

Requirements:

  • develop effective, maintainable code on time
  • ability to analyze and optimize code for performance and memory usage
  • strong communication skills
  • strong ambition and drive
  • proactive and detail oriented
  • knowledge and interest in interactive web technologies
  • proficient in PHP and object-oriented design
  • proficient in SQL for the MySQL database server
  • some degree of experience with the Symfony 1.0 Framework
  • proficient in HTML, XHTML and CSS
  • proficient in JavaScript

Optional requirements (would represent a bonus for the candidate)

  • experience in designing or contributing to large, complex systems
  • experience with internationalized, multi-lingual software development
  • proven leadership ability
  • some degree of experience with main stream MVC web development frameworks such as CakePHP, Code Igniter, WASP, etc…
  • some degree of experience with main stream JavaScript frameworks such as jQuery, Prototype, Scriptaculous, etc…
  • proficiency with any other main stream programming language
  • proficiency with Git or any other popular versioning system
  • proficiency with Linux, BSD or POSIX-inspired operating systems
